Promoting Education and Community Cohesion
Bringing people together by building on shared values that people have in order to better a relationship with their community no matter a person’s age, gender, race or religion.

Hello
Spring is not far now… and Essex Book Festival is in full swing!
May I highlight the consultation run by Essex Libraries to help decide what we would like to see in our libraries. Personally,  I love the Scandinavian library concept of “A  living room in the City” for our community. For our Chelmsford libraries, the consultation is at Great Baddow Library on Wednesday (7th March) at 7pm.
May I also remind everyone about the crowdfunding project of the Repair Hub in Springfield – for more details, do not hesitate to go onto their website. It would be really lovely to see the ‘repair not throw away’ project succeed!
I have added loads of new events to the newsletter. Most of the Facebook events are also shared on the Ideas Hub Facebook page – Ideashubchelms – where you’ll find lots more details – and be sure to like our page!
Please do share and invite your friends and family to subscribe to the newsletter either via our website: www.ideashubchelmsford.org or by email: hosts@ideashubchelmsford.org.
Don’t forget to share events with neighbours, family, & friends who maybe don’t use computers.
The more we share, the stronger our community will be!
Thank you and best wishes

Edith

Chelmsford Arts and Cultural Festival 2018
23rd June – 1st July 2018

If you would like to know more; volunteer or organise an event, please contact us at:
chelmsfordfestival@gmail.com

Update: the programme for the festival is shaping up nicely. ‘Polar’ has kindly agreed to sponsor/ create the design of our logo which we should have within the next two weeks. There is still time to contact us if you would like to be involved. We particularly need:
– Volunteers to help with marketing (social media, etc) and also to act as marshals during the actual days of the festival.
– Sponsors: the more help we have, the better the festival will be. If you think your company could be interested, please let us know.
– Participants to join our parade (23rd June) – including local groups/ individuals – and always keen to hear from those willing to join in wearing colourful outfits/ costumes
We are still interested to hear from you if you know and/ or are part of a music/ drama/ choir/ tai chi/ dance/ crafts/ science group and would be happy to take part.
Many Thanks in advance
Edith

We have started a community repair and mend group, meeting every Thursday at Coffee Hub 9:30 am – 12 noon. So bring along those things that need fixing – vacuum cleaners / bikes / mowers / old garments that need a make over etc. and we will have a go at fixing them. Why bin it when we can fix it! We have begun to raise funds to help set up and buy more equipment for this project on Spacehive, so follow the link for more details and to pledge your donation now.

Technically minded repairers are particularly welcome on Thursdays!!
