The Ideas Hub Chelmsford is one of the DMIE organisations. Dying Matters in Essex (DMIE) is a group of collaborating organisations, businesses, charities, community groups and individuals who lead the creation of opportunities for the community of Essex to talk about and take practical action regarding death, dying and bereavement all year round.
DMIE 2020: The Ideas Hub has received a grant of £4500 from the National Lottery Awards for All grant to deliver a community project using the arts for encouraging the residents of Chelmsford to start to talk about Dying Matters. The project is in 2 parts:
- Part 1: using storytelling for a soft approach the subject in targeted groups (Target audience 20- 65 years old).Becuse of the delays caused by COVID 19, the first session was delivered via an online story over Chelmsford Community Facebook Pages. - Part 2: working with Chelmsford Creatives Collective, the Ideas Hub is hoping to hold a visual art exhibition in Chelmsford in October 2020 of artists’ portraits of their loved ones with their story and a photo frame to encourage visitors to talk about their own story and/ or pledging a talk with their family on Dying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygEO9KTWVEg
